Jenny Walker is a retired bookkeeper which fits well with her present post as Treasurer and Office Manager for the Art Guild. Having worked for Ford Motors and the BBC in the UK and for Canada Post as well as a strange selection of jobs in between, she eventually opened her own business and enjoyed troubleshooting small business accounts.
As a resident of Port Colborne she particularly appreciates our library, museum and the Roselawn Centre all of whom have introduced her to some of the really interesting people that live here.
She is also an artist, starting her hobby with watercolors in East Africa; then getting her “O” level in Arts in England; learning acrylics at the Port Colborne Art Club; and then graphite drawing with Chris Summerhayes. She now enjoys water-soluble oils and has finally learned to use big brushes and slop the paint onto the canvas instead of nit-picking away with the tiniest brush.
Starting The Art Guild with Chris and Karen Bonisteel has been wonderful. All three blend their skills well and enjoy one another’s company. Together with her partners she hopes to transmit this joy to anyone who visits the Studio. Our patrons are delightful and this feeds back into the general happiness that is The Art Guild in Port Colborne.
